I did get to Church, as I hoped I would on Wednesday, for Liturgy as I’d dreamed for ages. I’m grateful! Thursday found me in a lot of nerve and fibromyalgia pain, Friday was less pain but a lot of fatigue. And today was some of both but not too bad, and I did a LOT. We go up, we go down. I’ve had more of the ‘I’m out and I’m *not coping* pain/fatigue recently though which is ringing alarm bells. Yay. I’ll try to take it easy and see how I go. We’ve rearranged my furniture (last weekend) and I’m getting a new bookcase (well, actually my sister’s, which is identical to the one I already have, and she’s going to get a bunch of new ones) which is desperately needed. We should move things in tomorrow, and then all that’s left is a nightstand which I’m going to get made out of pine (like the rest of my furniture) and stained the same colour as the two bookcases and the dresser that are already in here. It’s good – gets the visual clutter out of my room more since there won’t be books and magazines and STUFF all over the floor in piles!

Today I have achieved:
I got up
I got dressed – my long t-shirt fabric white skirt and purple t-shirt, hair in a crown braid (did it last night) and sandals. My tropical fruit hairclip held the braid in place.
I went to PT/the gym (it’s a mixture of the two) and did a 16 minute workout (which, given that I do it as whole body vibration therapy, is a long time!). We’re still tweaking my routine, but we’re pretty happy with it and now it will become part of my weekly routine.
I went to the pharmacy for medication
I drove up into the hills to meet my parents and sister for brunch and bought my Dad’s birthday present (for two weeks from now)
I drove myself and my sister home
I helped with the washing
I went to ikea with my family to find my sister’s bookshelves. And didn’t buy anything!
I cheat-washed my hair (put shampoo in the bottom of a big jug, used the bath tap to fill it with water, poured over hair while standing with head over the bath, added more water and kept doing that until neither the jug nor my hair contained bubbles) because I’d put too much of a hair serum in last night after Mum washed it properly (scrubbing the scalp, which is the only part of my hair that ever really needs washing). It worked, my hair’s come up gorgeous and I put the RIGHT amount of serum in this time!
I took photos of my hair for someone who’d asked and was amazed by how long it is now – I very rarely wear it down for very long, and I never see it from the back.

Today/Tomorrow I must:
Tonight:
finish dressing for bed (I’m in pj pants and no shoes but otherwise still dressed, although I’ve redone my braid)
say prayers
do a quick tidyup of my room
curl up and sleep
Tomorrow:
get up
strip my bed so the sheets can be washed
remake my bed
move the bookcase in and put my books away (or at least put the piles on the shelves to be neatly arranged later)
put my cds & dvds on the bookcase neatly

Today/Tomorrow I’d like to:
fix the ‘typos’ and finish copying Restless (Switchfoot) into my copybook – I tried to do it while I was sleepy the other night. Bad idea.
cut my apron?
bind & sew the pockets? (I need to buy more 1″ bias binding on Monday)
fertilise the tomatoes
rationalise the things hanging on my coatrack (used for clothes generally)

A quote for today:

Of course, it would be easier to get to paradise with a full stomach, all snuggled up in a soft feather-bed, but what is required is to carry one’s cross along the way, for the kingdom of God is not attained by enduring one or two troubles, but many!

~ Elder Anthony of Optina

Stitching/Craft:
None again – I wanted to get fabric for Juniper pants, but fabric store was closed. Sad! Monday, perhaps.

A hymn/prayer for today:
As a sharer of the ways and a successor to the throne of the Apostles, O inspired of God, thou foundest discipline to be a means of ascent to divine vision. Wherefore, having rightly divided the word of truth, thou didst also contest for the Faith even unto blood, O Hieromartyr Phocas. Intercede with Christ our God that our souls be saved. (commemorated 22nd September)

Food today:
french toast, maple syrup and bacon plus a latte, then a taco and ginger beer for dinner. And chocolate.

What I’m reading today:
I finished This Present Darkness at *cough* 4am this morning. It was good! As a thriller novel, I really liked it. I just ignore the theology :) I haven’t read it in *years* – probably six at least, it was nice to revisit it. It’s going back on my shelf. Piercing the Darkness is going to the book exchange because I didn’t like it as much as the first one – the ‘we’re indoctrinating all the children!’ premise just didn’t grab me the way that ‘we are taking over the world!’ one did. And the angels are much cooler in TPD, which is always a good thing. On my phone it’s been “Call the Midwife” which I think I must be most of the way through, and am really enjoying. It’s an excellent phone book, because there’s lots of short-ish anecdotes which are easily read while waiting for things. The ‘to be read’ pile by my bed is shrinking, hooray! Just in time for all the new editions of all the magazines I haven’t read to come out…sigh.

In my garden:
I pulled out the mizuna and yukina which had gone to seed and replanted tomatoes and a bunch of lettuces, we’ll see how they go. The tomatoes are looking so good! They’ve got their stakes in there with them, so now I just have to feed them liquid fertiliser (hopefully tomorrow?) and wait!
