I know it’s been a while…I’ve been very sick for a long time and sometimes it’s hard just to gather my thoughts enough to write a blog post. I’m going to try and do some sort of a simple daybook at least every couple days again to get back into blogging and also to help myself keep track of time – one thing about being an invalid is that time seems to turn into a fog rather than something useful, and you forget what you’ve achieved and what’s happened. Achievements when you’re this sick are funny – getting dressed is an achievement right now, having a shower is monumental. So I’ll record it, and see what happens. I used a simple daybook format before, and I will use it again, but tweaked. We’ll see how we go!
Today I have achieved:
I got up
I made my bed
I got dressed – jeans, a t-shirt, a shawl cardigan, slip on sandals when I’m out
I went out for lunch with my Dad – he drove
I walked to the bookstore from the cafe to pick up the books that I ordered
I walked back to the car up a hill
I came home to rest with my new books while I wait to go out to Church tonight I hope
Today/Tomorrow I must:
Today:
rest
eat dinner
dress for bed
take medication
sleep
Tomorrow:
get up
eat at least twice
make my bed (unless I can’t get out of it)
Today/Tomorrow I’d like to:
go to Church tonight
stay afterwards for supper
read a book
cut out all the pieces for my apron and sew the side panels and pockets
sew the side seams?

Stitching/Craft:
None today – I spent yesterday cutting out two overalls for Rachel’s baby Ember. Too tired today.

Food today:
ricotta & spinach cannelloni, half a giant plate of salad from TOC, berry spider. No more food now until after Church which will probably be soup, it usually is.
What I’m reading today:
A Wrinkle in Time – Madeleine L’Engle. Thinking about picking up and reading some more of This Present Darkness (Frank E Peretti) too – it isn’t Orthodox AT ALL but it’s entertaining I just suspend disbelief for a while. And reading Elder Paisios (the new green book) too, as always.
In my garden:
most of my seedlings are ready to plant out now. I need to go out and pull the mizuna from the boxes because it’s gone to seed, and turn the soil over then plant tomatoes in particular, and lettuces. Hooray!
